Dr Isaac Liu is an accredited Paediatrician and Paediatric Nephrologist (children’s kidney specialist) with experience in dialysis and kidney transplantation. He received his MBBS and Master of Medicine (Paediatric Medicine) from the National University of Singapore (NUS), and qualified as a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, United Kingdom. He completed his training in paediatrics at National University Hospital (NUH) and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He subsequently obtained a PhD in the field of paediatric kidney disease on a Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship.

Prior to joining Raffles Hospital, Dr Liu was a Consultant in the Division of Paediatric Nephrology, Dialysis and Renal Transplantation at NUH and an Assistant Professor (Clinician-Investigator) at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS.

Dr Liu treats infants and children suffering from common childhood ailments, and performs developmental assessment and vaccinations. In addition, as his subspecialty focus, Dr Liu also cares for children suffering from kidney-related disorders such as recurrent urinary tract infection, urinary frequency, bedwetting problems, high blood pressure, nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis including lupus and chronic kidney disease.

Dr Liu supplements his clinical experience with research experience, having published papers in topics related to kidney diseases in children, in international peer-reviewed journals. He is the co- author of a regional guidebook on paediatric kidney diseases. For his work, Dr Liu has received research accolades such as the Singapore Young Investigator Award (Basic/Translational Research), the International Paediatric Nephrology Association Nature Reviews Nephrology Research Award, the ExxonMobil Fellowship as well as the Ministry of Health Healthcare Research Fellowship.

Dr Isaac Liu is currently practicing at Raffles Children’s Centre and continues to serve as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at both NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Duke-NUS Medical School. He also serves as Junior Councillor of the International Paediatric Nephrology Association, representing Asia on the IPNA Best Practices and Standards Committee, and on the Panel of Advisors to the Youth Court, Singapore.
