Isak is an experienced clinical psychologist who has worked in both private and public settings in Norway before moving to Singapore. He has garnered experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds. Whilst he specialises adolescents and adults, he has worked with a wide range of clients across age the groups, with difficulties spanning from mild to severe. From mood issues to trauma and addictions.
Isak’s approach emphasizes the client’s life story and experiences, and values autonomy highly. He strives to create a safe and non-judgmental environment, to quickly establish a strong and lasting alliance. He amalgamates different therapeutic approaches to provide holistic client-centred care, tailoring strategies to the goals, needs and resources of each individual. The approaches he uses includes CBT, EMDR, EFT, Motivational Interviewing and Narrative Therapy. He has completed Level 2 training in EMDR. He can offer brief therapy models or longer term work for complex cases.
Isak assists clients struggling with various mental health issues such as anxiety, stress, burnout, mood disorders, trauma, PTSD, ADHD, ASD, as well as challenges related to identity, sexuality, relationships, and self-esteem.
Assessments
Isak also conducts psychological assessments for adults and adolescents, including ADHD assessments. He is experienced in a range of neurological testing having worked in a private neuro-psychology practice for 3.5 years. He saw a vast range of clients with different presentations ranging from ADHD, brain injury and dementia. He is well versed to work alongside other professionals and schools.
Personal Info
Isak recently relocated to Singapore from Norway, where he has spent most of his life. He has always been fascinated by different cultures and local history, and cares deeply about the personal narrative of the people he meets. He maintains the belief that inherent potential exists within every individual.
Isak enjoys travelling, discovering new places and spending time in nature. Additionally, he considers humour to be an essential part of a fulfilling life.
